people are turning to the Internet in a bid
to find a loving and lasting relationship or
simply to find a new friend to chat to.
Because of this increase in demand more and
more sites are being constructed to help
people in their quest. These sites offer all
sorts of different services from the
standard dating site right down to the
matchmaking offering that matches you with
your perfect partner for you. Which site you
join will depend on your own personal
preferences and the sites that are most
popular at the time.
Popular or dead?
When trying to
find singles online the key is to get your
face and your profile read by as many people
as possible. Picking a busy singles
site will enable you to do this but it will
also mean you have many more people to
compete with for the attention of the
opposite sex. That said, you are better
using a popular site and popularity is
usually gained because a singles
site offers something that people want. A
measure of popularity isn’t simply the
number of members a singles
site has, more importantly, you should be
looking at the number of active members they
have and how many profiles have been active
in the last couple of days. If people aren’t
visiting for weeks at a time then it’s a
sure fire sign that the sign is losing it’s
initial popularity and is going to become
quiet very soon.

Your profile is
virtually the same as a personal ad and
whichever approach you decide to take when
trying to find interested singles you should
always create a profile or ad that leaves a
good and lasting impression. If somebody
sees your profile as being boring it’s the
next logical step that they think you are
boring too, whether this is the case or not.
If they see an exciting ad that they enjoyed
reading they will believe that you are
exciting and they would enjoy talking to
you.
Picture or no
picture?
There is a very
simple answer to this conundrum.
Include a photo and make it a good one.
That doesn’t mean you should go out and pay
for a professional photograph but you should
pick one that shows you smiling and having a
good time. Appealing, inviting and friendly
is the image that this will portray and all
of these are the things that your potential
partner is probably looking for.
